How do I borrow an ebook from the library?

Answer

The GCLIS subscribes to several eBook vendors like Springer Link, Ebook Central and ProQuest. EBooks will be listed amongst your results when you search for information resources using UWIlinC. Alternatively, you may search solely for eBooks by using the "eBooks"  on UWIlinC's interface. To access information resources in UWIlinC, first ensure you are signed in to UWIlinC using your Open Campus (OC) credentials.

Accessing eBooks varies from vendor to vendor and may require you to do an additional sign in. This will require another username and password and not your MyGC login credentials. (Remember this information for the next time you wish to access resources from that eBook provider).

EBooks can either be viewed online or borrowed / downloaded. Borrowing / downloading an eBook is equivalent to checking out a physical book from the library with an expiry date. Loans are generally for 24 hours. Some eBooks will require you to have an eBook reader application on your viewing device.
